About This Role
- Join Intel's Advanced Packaging Technology Development - Substrate and Wafer Assembly (ATPD: SWA) team and help us fulfill our mission to be the supplier of choice for leading-edge, cost-effective substrate packaging.
- As a Manufacturing Equipment Technician, you will support critical manufacturing equipment and drive continuous improvement in a highly technical, cleanroom production environment.
- Shift Information: Night shift, Wed-Fri and every other Saturday Hours: 6:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.
- Key Responsibilities Manufacturing Equipment Technicians in Advanced Packaging Technology Development are responsible for: • Performing electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting to diagnose issues with non-functioning electromechanical equipment used in semiconductor manufacturing. • Dismantling, adjusting, repairing, and assembling equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches, or engineering drawings. • Performing setup, calibration, and preventive maintenance on production equipment, with a focus on wet chemistry, plating, and dry high-vacuum toolsets. • Documenting maintenance activities, repairs, parts usage, and findings in accordance with established procedures and systems. • Collaborating with engineering, process, and support teams to improve tool performance, reduce equipment downtime, and enhance process capability and reliability. • Leading or contributing to continuous improvement projects, including root cause analysis, yield and uptime improvement initiatives, and optimization of maintenance practices.
- Assignments are semi-routine in nature and performed within generally defined parameters.
- Employees normally receive general instructions on most work and are expected to exercise judgment in resolving nonstandard problems.
- The ideal candidate demonstrates: • Strong judgment and initiative in resolving nonstandard equipment and process issues and in developing clear, data-driven recommendations. • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and adjust to rapidly changing priorities. • Self-motivation and the ability to manage individual responsibilities while actively supporting team goals. • Flexibility and capability to handle multiple tasks and toolsets concurrently. • Data analysis, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities, including interpreting equipment data and logs. • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with peers, engineers, and customers (internal stakeholders). • Basic computer literacy, including the use of email, web-based systems, and common office productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office applications) to document work, create reports, and communicate with team members.
- Work Environment and Physical Requirements • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment for extended periods while wearing full cleanroom attire (coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, and gloves). • Willingness to work in proximity to chemicals, follow all safety procedures, and wear a respirator when required. • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs as needed. • Ability to climb ladders as required by the role. • Willingness and ability to spend the majority of the shift (greater than 90 percent, excluding breaks) on the manufacturing floor working on equipment, which may involve:o Walking approximately 3-5 miles per shift. • Standing and/or sitting for up to 9 hours per shift, as required by tasks.
Requirements
- Candidates must meet at least one of the following requirements: Associate degree in a technical field and 2+ years of experience in equipment maintenance or a related discipline.
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
- High School Diploma/GED or higher plus 4+ years of hands‑on manufacturing experience in a relevant technical environment.
- High School Diploma/GED or higher plus 4+ years of military technical experience.
- High School Diploma/GED or higher plus 2.5+ years of experience in equipment maintenance or a closely related technical field.

- Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $70,670.00-116,640.00 USD (Hourly Role) The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations.
