SYSTEM ENGINEER - EIS STORAGE and Backup

What You'll Do

• Storage Operations (SAN / NAS) - Perform standard storage provisioning tasks such as LUN creation, host mapping, and volume allocation following established procedures. - Support administration of enterprise storage platforms such as NetApp, Dell EMC (PowerMax/VMAX), Isilon, Pure Storage. - Assist with basic troubleshooting related to capacity, connectivity, and access issues. - Work with senior engineers to resolve performance or availability incidents. - Follow documented runbooks and SOPs for routine storage operations.
• SAN & Connectivity Support - Support Cisco Fibre Channel SAN operations including zoning changes and validation. - Assist in monitoring SAN health and escalate complex issues appropriately. - Verify multipathing and connectivity during host onboarding activities.
• Backup & Data Protection Operations - Perform day-to-day administration of IBM Spectrum Protect (TSM) and Cohesity DataProtect environments. - Execute scheduled backup jobs, monitor success/failure, and perform first-level troubleshooting. - Support restore requests for files, VMs, or databases as per approved processes. - Follow defined backup retention and compliance policies.
• Operations & Support - Participate in 24x7 rotational shifts and on-call support for storage and backup environments. - Handle incidents, service requests, and changes under ITIL processes. - Provide initial RCA inputs and support senior staff during major incidents. - Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and change management guidelines.
• Collaboration & Learning - Work closely with system, virtualization, database, and cloud teams. - Contribute to documentation updates and SOP reviews. - Learn automation and advanced troubleshooting skills through mentoring.
• Required Qualifications & Experience - 3+ years managing and supporting enterprise-scale storage and backup infrastructures in complex, global environments . - Hands-on exposure to SAN and NAS environments. - Working knowledge of IBM Spectrum Protect (TSM) and/or Cohesity. - Experience supporting production environments. - Familiarity with ITIL processes.
• Education Any Graduate (Engineering or Computer Science preferred) Additional Information - Willingness to work in rotational shifts and on-call schedules.
