About This Role
- Develops, applies, and maintains quality management systems (e.g., audits, process control, change control, metrologies), utilizes quality and reliability standards and testing methods for the qualification, management and improvement of suppliers, equipment, materials, services, and manufacturing for products manufactured by or for Intel.
- Applies quality and reliability principles to solve engineering problems associated with equipment, materials, services, manufacturing, and products.
- Provides reliability testing, risk assessments and material disposition, root cause analysis, and implements systemic corrective action.
- Defines and develops next generation quality and reliability methodologies to support Intel's supply chain roadmap.
- Benchmarks emerging technology in the industry and defines future technology requirements.
- Collaborates with suppliers and procurement organization to define materials manufacturing process flow that meets quality, reliability, cost, yield, and production requirements.
- Acts as the key decision maker on questionable material from a supplier and puts mitigation plans in place to ensure business needs and quality standards are met.
- Performs supplier quality capability assessment and develops risk mitigation plans.
- Leads or performs quality control audits to ensure vendors work in compliance with Intel's and regulatory standards.
- Visits vendor facilities to observe manufacturing environment, assess procedures, and evaluate adherence to required quality standards.
- Provides technical advice and guidance to suppliers to reduce defect rates.
- Maintains detailed supplier quality reports including information on defect rates.
Requirements
- The candidate must possess one of the following educational qualifications and corresponding experience levels: Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or physical sciences discipline, such as Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Applied Physics, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the characterization and analysis of the physical, mechanical, and dimensional properties, behaviors, and performance of materials used in assembly manufacturing processes, particularly substrates; OR Master's degree in a relevant engineering or physical sciences discipline, such as Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Applied Physics, and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; OR PhD in a relevant engineering or physical sciences discipline, such as Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Applied Physics, and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
- Relevant experience should include evaluating and understanding the physical, mechanical, and dimensional characteristics of materials used in assembly manufacturing processes, with a focus on substrate technologies.
