About This Role
- The Role and Impact : Intel’s Chief Accounting Office (CAO) ensures high-quality accounting, controllership, consolidation, and financial reporting worldwide.
- The CAO organization partners across the company to deliver accurate GAAP-compliant accounting, maintain strong internal controls, and support required financial and regulatory reporting globally.
- This Position is a key leader responsible for complete accounting lifecycle for global bonus and sabbatical programs under ASC 710.
- Collaborates with HR Compensation and Benefits, Corporate Planning, Payroll, Treasury, Accounting Policy, External Reporting, Legal, and shared service teams to ensure accurate, compliant accounting with strong internal controls.
- Strong accounting/controllership experience, sound judgment, and ability to translate business changes into practical accounting processes and policies.
What You'll Do
- Lead global bonus and sabbatical accounting activities with clear ownership of priorities, deliverables, and performance expectations.
- Translate program design, policy changes and business objectives into effective accounting processes while proactively addressing emerging accounting and operational issues as the designs evolve.
- Own and govern ASC 710 accounting for global bonus and sabbatical programs, establishing accrual methodologies for accurate expense recognition.
- Review assumptions, calculations and supporting analyses to ensure bonus and sabbatical balances are accurate.
- Partnering with Accounting Policy and business stakeholders on technical implications of program changes & new compensation structures.
- Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting results for bonus and sabbatical expense and balance sheet accounts.
- Lead forecasting, scenario analysis, and management reporting including variance and trend analysis to provide reliable estimates and business insight for finance leaders, in support of strategic decision-making.
- Maintain and enhance accounting policies, SOX controls, and desktop procedures while ensuring consistent application of accounting guidance and high-quality reconciliations across global processes.
- Support internal/external audit activities, including walkthroughs, testing, issue remediation, documentation requests and partner closely with HR Compensation and Benefits, Payroll, Corporate Planning, Treasury, Legal, External Reporting, and shared service teams on program execution and reporting requirements.
- Provide practical accounting guidance on bonus plan changes, sabbatical policies, related compensation initiatives while building strong partnerships to ensure timely issue resolution and process alignment.
- Identify and implement opportunities to standardize, simplify, automate bonus and sabbatical accounting processes while building scalable solutions for evolving compensation programs and broader CAO transformation goals.
- Lead, coach, and develop team members while driving execution and operational excellence across matrixed global teams through accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 7+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience, including compensation-related accounting, accruals, forecasting, or controllership responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS, with direct experience or strong familiarity with ASC 710 or equivalent IFRS standards.
- Experience leading or influencing cross-functional and matrixed teams in a complex environment.
- Demonstrated experience with internal controls, accounting policy application, close processes, and financial reporting support.
Nice to Have
- CPA certification.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA or ECC and related finance systems.
- Experience leading automation, ERP, or finance transformation initiatives.
- Strong communication skills, executive presence, and the ability to deliver practical solutions in dynamic environments.
