About This Role
- The Role and Impact: The Accounting Operations organization partners across Finance to ensure high-quality accounting, controllership, forecasting support, and financial close execution through scalable, well-controlled processes and systems.
- The team supports recurring planning and reporting cycles, close governance, accounting systems enablement, and operational process improvements that help Finance deliver accurate, timely, and decision-useful information.
- This organization works closely with Corporate Accounting, Controllers, Corporate Planning, Functional Area Finance teams, Finance Systems, IT, shared service teams, and other accounting stakeholders to support efficient execution of planning, close, and reporting processes while helping modernize the finance operating environment.
- This role is a key member of Accounting Operations responsible for supporting the execution, governance, and continuous improvement of corporate Profit and Loss forecasting processes, accounting systems workflows, and connected finance transformation initiatives.
- This role combines recurring support for planning and POR cycles, process coordination, stakeholder communications, and reporting quality with project work tied to accounting workflows, system enhancements, testing, implementation, and process redesign.
- Key Responsibilities: Support recurring POR and forecasting cycles for corporate P/L-related workstreams, ensuring deliverables are completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with established deadlines.
- Coordinate process activities across forecasting cycles, including preparation, follow-up, data support, communications, and issue resolution.
- Help maintain continuity and execution quality across recurring planning processes, even during periods of system, reporting, or organizational change.
- Assist in refining and improving forecasting workflows to support greater efficiency, clarity of roles and responsibilities, and smoother handoffs across stakeholders.
- Support transition efforts that enable more streamlined and scalable forecasting models, including improved ownership by business or functional submitters where appropriate.
- Support accounting systems workflows, journal entry-related processes, close support, and connected finance operations tools.
- Assist with the administration, governance, and enhancement of task-based workflows to improve efficiency, user experience, and operational control.
- Support testing, validation, and implementation activities related to finance systems changes, connected workflow tools, and accounting process enhancements.
- Contribute to projects involving workflow redesign, connected systems, data management, process standardization, and future-state finance operations.
- Identify opportunities to use AI, automation, and digital tools to improve the speed, quality, and scalability of recurring finance and accounting processes.
- Support initiatives involving data migration, workflow automation, structured reminders, reporting enhancements, and process digitization.
- Apply AI and digital tools thoughtfully to improve analytics, process monitoring, issue detection, and documentation support while maintaining strong governance and control standards.
- Partner with IT, systems, and finance stakeholders to evaluate practical use cases for AI-enabled transformation across accounting and planning operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems or a related field.
- At least 6 years of experience in accounting operations with a Bachelor's degree, or 3 years with a Master's degree.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with advanced skills such as Power Query or Pivot Tables.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, such as SAP ECC or SAP S4/HANA, including module design and process mapping.
- Demonstrated technical agility and analytical skills in resolving complex accounting issues.
Nice to Have
- Membership in professional accounting organizations such as CPA Australia, ACCA, or MICPA.
- Experience managing teams and driving results through leadership excellence.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to navigate cross-functional and multicultural environments.
- Problem-solving mindset and willingness to embrace new tools and methodologies to enhance execution and process improvement.
- Experience supporting recurring forecasting, reporting, close coordination, or accounting operations processes.
- Experience supporting Corporate P/L, POR, forecasting cycles, or financial planning and reporting processes.
- Familiarity with task workflows, journal entry-related processes, or close management tools.
- Experience partnering with IT or finance systems teams on workflow improvements, system integration, or technical process solutions.
- Familiarity with S/4HANA, SAC, ERP transitions, or finance systems transformation initiatives.
- Experience with automation, digital workflow tools, data migration, or AI-enabled process improvement initiatives.
