What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain software applications using C#, .NET, and WPF.
  • Implement new features and enhancements from requirements through design, coding, testing, and release.
  • Build and maintain user interfaces using XAML, data binding, and MVVM principles.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code that meets quality and performance standards.
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects across application components.
  • Break down technical tasks into manageable deliverables and provide accurate progress updates.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, QA engineers, product managers, and domain experts to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Participate actively in code reviews, design discussions, and team technical initiatives.
  • Develop automated tests and contribute to improving software reliability and maintainability.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code to improve productivity while validating generated outputs and maintaining engineering quality.
  • Job Qualifications: A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Typically, candidates will bring 2–4 years of relevant software development experience, though strong candidates earlier in their careers are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience developing software using C# and the .NET platform.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design practices.
  • Good knowledge of asynchronous programming using async/await.
  • Experience developing user interfaces using WPF and XAML.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar technologies.
  • Ability to debug, test, and troubleshoot software applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative development team.
  • Additional Skills/Preferences: Understanding of data binding and MVVM design patterns.
  • Familiarity with software design patterns and clean architecture principles.
  • Exposure to engineering, simulation, CAD, CAE, scientific, or technical software applications.
  • Knowledge of unit testing frameworks and automated testing practices.
  • Additional Information: This role is based in our Nottingham office, with a hybrid working arrangement of at least 3 days per week on-site.
  • You will join a collaborative, cross-functional product development team working alongside software engineers, QA engineers, product managers, and domain experts.
  • The team uses modern tooling including GitHub, Azure DevOps, and AI-assisted development environments.
