What You'll Do
- Design and develop graphics-based applications within modern GUI environments, with a focus on usability, performance, and maintainability.
- Integrate AI-assisted development tools and approaches — including code assistants and agent frameworks — as a standard part of the software development lifecycle.
- Build well-defined interfaces that enable effective interaction between users, engineering workflows, and AI systems.
- Design and execute systematic software tests independently and develop tooling to support automated test evaluation.
- Apply analytical and model-based thinking to decompose complex technical requirements into well-structured, testable solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members across product, engineering, and QA to iterate on software features from requirements through to release.
- Contribute to ongoing technical documentation, code reviews, and knowledge sharing within an international engineering team.
- Job Qualifications: Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. 2–5 years of professional software development experience, with a track record of delivering production-quality C/C++ code.
- Demonstrated ability to incorporate AI tools — such as code assistants or data-driven methods — into day-to-day development practice, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is required for working effectively in an international team environment.
- Additional Skills/Preferences: Experience with scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g.
- Exposure to simulation software, CAE tools, or engineering physics domains.
- Experience working in an international or cross-cultural team environment.
- Additional Information: You will join the Simufact software engineering team in Hamburg — an international group focused on advanced simulation solutions for manufacturing processes, operating within Cadence’s broader software portfolio.
- Key collaborators include product managers, QA engineers, and simulation domain experts across multiple European sites.
- The team works primarily with C/C++, modern GUI frameworks, and AI-assisted development tooling.
- Agile practices (Scrum/Kanban) are standard.
- This is a permanent, full-time position based in Hamburg.
