- The operations and management engineering team in VCF Business Unit (BU) is an exciting and fast-paced organization that is leading the charge of simplification of operations and management across enterprise private cloud environments.
- We have ambitious goals to expand management capabilities to support the latest application architectures and deployment systems such as Kubernetes, as well as enable simplified and unified management and operations of these systems to free customers to focus on the business decisions they need to make to optimize their operational cost.
- In our team, software engineers are focused on delivering innovative management functions to boost proactive monitoring, insights, diagnostics, and observability to enable customer self-diagnostics for their operational continuity.
- You will be leveraging new technologies, solving complex problems, and working with several VCF teams for designing and delivering management features.
- Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? As a Staff Software Engineer, you will become part of a talented team of engineers, working together to build a better product – solving complex problems, and delivering best quality software.
- You will be responsible for architecture, design, implementation, and providing technical expertise for delivering operations and management features.
- You will be working in an agile and fast-paced environment with freedom to explore, innovate and challenge the status quo.
- You will be expected to: Learn and apply new technologies for delivering high-quality operations and management product features.
- Actively participate in all phases of software development including requirements, architecture/design, coding, unit testing, debugging, design and code reviews You will be driven and passionate about understanding customer needs and crafting high quality solutions to meet those needs.
- You will contribute to complex software solutions that have resulted in significant market impact.

What You'll Do
- Research & evaluate new technologies for building and delivering new features.
- Participate in architectural design and code reviews.
- Collaborate with cross-functional distributed teams for product development.
- Guide and mentor other engineers on technology, design, and coding practices.
- Work in an Agile development environment while continuously evaluating and improving engineering processes.
- Work in a fast-paced startup-like environment, able to rapidly prototype ideas and convert the prototypes into an enterprise-grade product capability.
- Must have legal authorization to work in the US Compensation and Benefits The annual base salary range for this position is USD 143,800.00 To USD 230,000.00 As a valued member of our team, you'll be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and the opportunity to receive not only a competitive new hire equity grant, but also annual equity awards, connecting your success directly to the company's growth.
