R&D Optical/ Product Engineer

About This Role

• R&D Senior Optics/ Product Engineer Job Description 1.
• Design & Development: Design, model, and optimize optical systems, components (lenses, light source, photodiode arrangement), and subsystems for specific performance criteria.
• Experience in optical products design. 2.
• Simulation & Analysis: Perform optical modeling, simulations (e.g., Zemax, Lumerical), tolerance analysis, and data interpretation to validate designs that fulfill Must-Want. 3.
• Prototyping & Testing: Develop, build, test, and evaluate prototypes with ASIC, to confirm performance and functionality per optics simulation 4.
• Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams (marketing, mechanical, electrical, IC, test engineers) and external suppliers/vendors to materialize the design 5.
• Documentation: Prepare technical reports, specifications, drawings, and design documentation for internal/ external sharing 6.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues in optical systems, including tweaking, upgrades, repairs, maintenance, failure analysis, reverse engineering.
• Demonstrate ability to analyze data, and use various problem-solving methodology 7.
• Research: Stay current with new optical technologies/ materials & ability to perform competitor analysis 8.
