About This Role
- DFT Design Automation Engineer Broadcom’s ASIC Products Division is seeking a Design Automation Software Development Engineer in the Design For Test (DFT) team developing SoC ASIC products.
- They will define, develop, deploy and support the methodology, design automation software tools and flow used in ASIC development.
- This job will involve development, testing and deployment of software products and usage methodology to a world-wide, cutting edge, ASIC DFT technology development and implementation team.
- These tools are used to support test logic hardware development, synthesis, insertion and integration as well as verification that the logic is implemented correctly.
- Other tools are used in the generation of the production tests used in manufacturing the ASIC products.
- The candidate should have hands-on experience developing and debugging software in a team environment.
- They must also have an understanding of digital logic design and implementation.
- The candidate must possess excellent communication and problem solving skills to conquer the demanding and ever changing requirements of the ASIC customer base.
- Responsibilities Using Bash, Perl, Ruby, Python or TCL scripting to automate design tool processes Development of complex tools in languages such as C++ Debugging tool and design flow related issues for IC designers Providing support/training on tools and methodologies to engineers at multiple geographies Working directly with EDA vendors to resolve tool issues Applying hardware/software skills to create innovative solutions Developing documentation and training on custom flows and internal tools Understanding and deployment of new and evolving DFT architecture solutions Skills & Experience Proficiency in programming languages such as Perl, Python, Ruby, Tcl, C/C++ in a UNIX/Linux environment Digital Logic Design and Verilog HDL Understanding of programming issues such as OO design, memory leaks, data structures, sorting, recursion, stack overflow and greedy algorithms.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication skills Understanding of Scan Test architecture and implementation Experience with Streaming Scan Networks is a plus Familiarity with UNIX/Linux environments and scripting, digital timing analysis, software development tools and revision control systems Education: Bachelors Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering and 8+ years of related experience; or Masters Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering and 6+ years of related experience Additional Job Description: Compensation and Benefits The annual base salary range for this position is $108,000 - $172,800.
- This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
