Working Student (f/m/d) Industrial Wired/Wireless Communications Lab

Overview

• The System Innovation team focuses on cutting-edge innovation projects, both national and international, with partners from industry and academia.
• These projects have a significant impact, from NXP’s products portfolio to standardization.
• The Industrial Communication Lab scope is TSN-based communication, both Wireless and Wired, and it is active in several international standardization organizations (5G-ACIA, IEEE, OPC Foundation, etc.).
• The results of our projects are showcased as industrial white papers, research papers and system demonstrators that combine the latest security and communication technology.
• A demonstrator typically consists of NXPs embedded microcontrollers/microprocessors that are combined with NXPs Security ICs, wired/wireless communication links and a PC/Smartphone-based GUI application to deliver messages sent from the demonstrator.
• The team is now looking for a working student (f/m/d) to support our research work in industrial communication for industrial automation and robotics.
• Extension of contract or conversion into thesis topics later is possible.
• Tasks: You will be involved in several development and deployment steps: Research and analysis of technical specifications and standards of industrial real-time wireless communication networks.
• Definition of the demonstrator concepts & system architecture Configuration and evaluation of HW & SW demo components (embedded systems) Integration of developed concepts into the system solution (HW & SW) Support in System bring-up and configuration Requirements: Student of a Master course in Engineering/Information Technology or Bachelor students in 5th/6th semester with background in the research areas Knowledge of Linux, embedded software implementation, or GUI programming advantageous Previous interest or experience in communication and robotics Pro-active, ability to work independently, creative and innovative mindset, and good team player What We Offer: An attractive hourly wage of €19.40 3 0 vacation days per year Flexible working hours T he possibility to work in a hybrid setup Access to an on-site cafeteria Networking initiatives and Employee Resource Groups such as Young Community, No Extra Planet, NXP Equal, Women in NXP, and more — fostering both professional and personal exchange Please note: The successful candidate may/will be responsible for security related tasks.
