Technical Program Manager

Overview

• Manages the development and implementation process of a company’s products and services.
• Coordinates departmental or cross-functional teams, focused on delivering new or upgrading existing products.
• Monitors the project from initiation through delivery including planning and directing schedules and monitoring budget/spending.
• Organizes cross-functional activities, ensuring completion of the project i.e.
• product on schedule and within budget constraints.
• This role is most common in a matrix type organization; it does not have responsibility over product development, but often requires a technical background in order to complete its overall project management responsibility.
• This job manages specific projects that have a distinct beginning and end.
• Scrum Masters managing software development projects using the Agile development framework may be matched here.
• Those who use project management/Scrum Master techniques, but act primarily as developers and secondarily lead a project, should be matched to the appropriate engineering discipline.
