Sr. Principal Field Applications Engineer

What You'll Do

• ： The successful candidate will serve as a Senior Principal Field Applications Engineer (FAE), supporting NXP’s application processors, including the i.MX and S32G product families, as well as AI accelerators and related solutions.
• The candidate will drive demand creation and customer design-in activities in close collaboration with NXP’s business lines, sales, and marketing teams.
• The role will provide technical expertise and support to NXP’s sales organization and work closely with the broader NXP technical community to address customer technical issues and contribute to future product and technology roadmaps.
• Key responsibilities include: Work closely with sales and marketing teams to promote NXP MPU/SoC products and associated vertical-market solutions to customers.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers and provide technical project coordination to help ensure successful project execution.
• Provide technical support throughout the customer product design and development cycle using NXP products and solutions.
• Identify, initiate, and develop internal technical proofs of concept (PoCs) to demonstrate new technologies, use cases, and solution opportunities.
• Support customer architecture reviews, system-level debugging, performance optimization, and issue resolution.
• Gather customer requirements and market feedback and communicate them effectively to NXP product and business teams.
• Requirements： Master’s or doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of operating systems, with hands-on experience in Linux kernel, device driver, and board support package (BSP) development.
• Experience with ARM Cortex-A, Cortex-M, or Cortex-R processors, or with heterogeneous computing platforms.
• Solid experience in embedded hardware and software development.
• Strong English communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Experience with Android or QNX is a plus.
• Experience with the automotive hardware and software ecosystem, including AUTOSAR, MCAL, and functional safety, is a plus.
• Strong customer-facing, communication, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.
