About This Role
- Working in the Power Delivery group of the Advanced Power Systems product line, candidate will be part of a team developing hybrid converter and power delivery solutions for automotive & robotics applications.
- Task and responsibilities Lead the definition, architecture, design, verification, and validation of complex analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits from concept through production release, ensuring technical excellence in quality, performance, reliability, and schedule.
- Drive system-level and block-level architecture tradeoff analysis, translating product requirements into robust circuit solutions while balancing performance, area, power, cost, manufacturability, and functional safety requirements.
- Provide technical leadership for critical circuit developments, including power management, data converters, control loops, references, protection circuits, and mixed-signal subsystems, while mentoring junior engineers and guiding design best practices.
- Own technical risk assessment and mitigation strategies throughout the development cycle, including architecture reviews, design reviews, silicon bring-up, debugging, characterization, and customer issue resolution.
- Collaborate closely with system architects, digital design, AMS verification, layout, product engineering, validation, functional safety, reliability, and program management teams across global sites to ensure successful project execution.
- Drive innovation through new circuit techniques, design methodologies, patents, publications, and technology scouting activities that contribute to future product competitiveness.
- Review and approve key design deliverables, including specifications, architecture documents, design reviews, verification plans, layout guidance, silicon evaluation reports, and design notes.
- Support customer engagements and strategic technical discussions by providing deep technical expertise, root-cause analysis, and solution recommendations for complex customer applications.
- Qualifications Candidate needs to hold a minimum of a M.S. degree in electrical engineering.
- PhD degree is preferred.
- At least 10 years direct experience designing analog and mixed-signal transistor level circuitry for power management applications.
- Must have expertise in analog circuit design theory and control theory and have used this to create original and novel circuits that provide significant value.
- Ability to design traditional analog MOS and BJT circuits such as bandgap references, amplifiers, oscillators, detection circuits, linear LDO and switching regulators.
- Ability to design DC-DC converter, switch cap converter and load switches will be a great additional skills required for the position.
- Hybrid Converter experience is highly preferred.
- Other desirable skills include experience with mixed-signal design tools and flow, reading and writing Verilog AMS models.
