What You'll Do

  • for the G6 IP Analyst to acquire: Having broad IT knowledge to be able to act as the NoA system responsible/owner Continuous efficiency gain of the entire Ops group Reporting responsible, Due Diligence, Portfolio analyses, Benchmark, Monthly, IP dashboard, Renumeration dashboard, many more reports and Portfolio Review Responsible In time an additional responsibility for a G6 IP Analyst could be the local IP office responsibility for the IP team that resides at that location.
  • Key areas of responsibilities: 1.
  • Task: 1000+ ID’s per year handling efficiently and qualitatively 2.
  • Task: 500+ Filing target per year 3.
  • Task: Uptime NoA system + recovery responsible + liaise with IT organization 4.
  • Task: Efficiency target for the group in terms of group size for the required filing activities 5.
  • Task: Reporting related items such as Analyses, Due Diligence, Monthlies, dashboards.
  • This includes know-how on the industries’ IP developmental directions and in a broader sense the know-how of what IP trends are becoming more important in which geographies. 6.
  • Task: Responsible for the portfolio review, an activity which is held twice a year With whom the job holder collaborates and for which activities : - Tech leads within the IDR meeting.
  • Often Fellows from specific technology fields working in those fields with proven seniority/track record. -Advocates within the IDR meeting, highly skilled specialists able to assess the value of certain inventions and as such capable of deciding in a team framework on the Close/Pursue decision. -With respect to the NoA system: interaction with supplier Anaqua on upgrades, downtime issues, improvements.
  • Within NXP interaction with IT responsible for down-time and root cause analyses. -Within the IP group, in first order the IPA’s to ensure an efficient work environment keeps on enhancing the total group its efficiency. -Second work with the IP Counseling manager, related to due diligence, analyses/search for acquisition targets. -third the Creation team, work in tandem with the Creation manager to ensure an efficient operation end to work together on Portfolio reviews which also involves senior technical businesspeople on how to rate our patents. -Work with other IP MT team members to ensure correct and efficient reporting on relevant IP items.
  • With whom in the organization does the job holder have frequent contact as part of the role, and regarding what topics (max. 10): -IP Chief of staff -Creation manager -Counseling manager -Facilitators -Ops people, IPA’s, facilitators, IT officer, financial officer Examples of projects in which the job holder participates and/or leads : -Leads the invention disclosure review (IDR) meetings as facilitator Goals: qualitatively deal with 1000+ inventions/year, escalate timely when target is in danger, undertake actions together with IDR teams to counter a reduction in input -Leads Portfolio review meetings Qualitative qualifications of our patent portfolio, builds a network with experts to perform the portfolio review, on time completion of the twice a year activity -Financial responsibility over time.
  • This includes detailed understanding of our cost base, quarterly assessment of where we stand as an IP group, also a quarterly assessment about our pruning capability on our patent portfolio together with team members from Licensing, and Creation.
  • Examples of recently completed projects or activities and their (financial) impact : -As an example; The German and Austrian remuneration activity automation.
  • This is a project that should be led by the jobholder.
  • The impact is enormous on workload impact of engineers and managers within Germany.
  • Because of the very cumbersome way this system works, if not dealt with correctly and automatically it will consume a lot of manpower.
  • I would estimate easily in the hundreds kEU per year. -The portfolio review mentioned above is an enabler of our quarterly pruning.
  • The quarterly pruning of the portfolio can amount to 500 kEU per quarter.
