Overview
- We are looking for a best-in-class engineer to join our cloud infrastructure team to focus on deployment and data center operations supporting game streaming services based in our Frankfurt datacenter.
- GeForce NOW is NVIDIA’s Cloud Gaming service streaming games at the highest quality to any and every user regardless of their device types and capabilities – low-end PCs, Macs, or mobile devices.
- Using the most advanced GPUs and NVIDIA proprietary software, GeForce NOW transforms the gaming experience with always up-to-date games on always the latest hardware, a streaming experience equal to that of a local PC, and near-instant launch – just click and play! What you will be doing: Weekly onsite visits to the Frankfurt datacenter required.
- Oversee site integration teams as they perform physical installation of server and network infrastructure in lab and production datacenter environments per the documented standards.
- Assist with the physical installation efforts as needed.
- Setup and configure server operating systems for both Linux, Windows and KVM virtualized environments.
- Perform triage and hardware diagnostics on deployed devices.
- Fix and replace failed hardware components.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts across the global infrastructure.
- Supervise inbound/outbound shipping tickets.
- Basic configuration of network switch and rack PDU devices.
- Build and maintain documentation and update monitoring systems detailing the configurations of deployed solutions.
- Work with automation and provisioning teams to establish calibration, burn-in and hardware validation procedures for the recommended hardware configurations.
- What we need to see: 5+ years of experience in installing, configuring and basic problem solving in both Linux and Windows operating systems in global, large-scale environments.
- Hands-on experience for server hardware at the component level: sbios, vbios, firmware, IPMI, component burn-in process, and memory and cpu testing.
- Fundamental knowledge and understanding of network protocols: TCP/IP, SMB, HTTP, NFS, FTP, SNMP, DHCP.
- Proficiency in basic switch setup to include interface, VLANs, access/trunk port configuration.
- Ability to quickly learn and evaluate new technologies.
- Ability to influence and establish relationships with other software and IT functional groups such as development, server, storage and security teams.
- BS Degree or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, and work experience.
- Certifications desired (CCNA, CompTIA A+, etc).
