What You'll Do

• Design and develop smart manufacturing and AI solutions in advanced factory scheduling, mathematical optimization, and discrete event simulation that enable industry-leading manufacturing capability.
• Develop high-quality data analytics and applications that provide actionable insights for management and manufacturing teams.
• Collaborate across global sites to identify opportunities and deliver holistic solutions that drive continuous improvement in production metrics.
• Drive global alignment and benchmarking of scheduling and simulation solutions across Micron's network of manufacturing sites.
• Other Responsibilities Explore and apply new frontier ideas, concepts, and technologies to enable breakthrough solutions at Micron.
• AI Responsibilities Integrates AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.
• Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements within one's scope of work.
• Job Requirements Minimum Required Qualifications / Experience: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on or research experience in factory scheduling, mathematical optimization modeling, or discrete event simulation in a manufacturing or operations context.
• Must Have Technical Skills: Applied knowledge of mathematical optimization / operations research - LP, MIP, and meta-heuristics, with experience in optimization modeling.
• Hands-on experience with discrete event simulation (DES) applied to manufacturing, scheduling, or operations problems.
• Must Have Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with diverse, cross-functional teams.
• Self-motivated and proactive, able to work independently with a strong work ethic.
• AI Requirements: Ability to apply baseline digital fluency and role-appropriate AI literacy to use AI-enabled tools responsibly and effectively for research, analysis, content creation, problem-solving, operational tasks, and achieving business outcomes.
• Highly Desirable / Preferred Skills or Experience: Experience with optimization solvers such as CPLEX or Gurobi, and DES tools.
• Ability to combine classical operations research (optimization and simulation) with data-driven and AI methods to build hybrid solutions.
• Experience applying AI / reinforcement learning or multi-agent systems to dynamic scheduling or dispatching problems.
• Direct experience with factory scheduling.
• Exposure to semiconductor or high-volume manufacturing (HVM) operations.
• Other Requirements: Able and willing to travel overseas for global site engagement and collaboration.
