Senior Applied AI Engineer (Semiconductor)

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Physics, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience; OR a Master's degree with 2+ years of experience; OR a PhD with relevant academic or industry experience in data science and/or the semiconductor industry.
• Demonstrated track record of building and launching end-to-end data science solutions, including data engineering, machine learning algorithm development, UI/UX integration, and ML Ops.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis, modeling, and automation.
• Strong communication skills — excellent written and verbal English-language communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to convey technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Preferred Qualifications Semiconductor industry experience is strongly preferred; experience in the memory sector is highly desirable.
• Expertise with Large Language Models (LLMs), including fine-tuning, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and evaluation of model performance.
• Familiarity with agentic AI systems — designing, deploying, or integrating autonomous agents capable of reasoning, planning, and executing tasks across complex workflows.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset, a passion for teaching others about data science, and a continuous drive to learn and adopt new techniques and technologies.
• The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is: $114,000.00 - $286,000.00 a year Additional compensation may include benefits, bonuses and equity.
