Environmental Engineer

What You'll Do

• the following: Ensure Micron’s environmental programs and procedures are effective, efficient, and conform to the management system and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in achieving site's sustainability goals by participating in committees and providing input to plan, execute, and monitor projects.
• Be effective at presenting (both written and verbal) environmental matters to Micron Leadership and local, state, and federal agencies.
• Meet requirements to conduct accurate environmental calculations and submit vital reports to regulatory agencies.
• Conduct applicability determinations on environmental regulations.
• Make objective decisions supported by verifiable facts.
• Complete internal auditor training and assist in EHS management system internal audits.
• Coordinate, manage, and conduct environmental walkthroughs, inspections, and audits to ensure operations comply with procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Perform incident and event follow-up and investigation, determine root cause(s), implement containment action, establish corrective action & preventative action, and verify effectiveness.
• Collect, evaluate, and communicate environmental-related metrics and performance measurements.
• Identify, develop, and provide environmental training in accordance with regulations and company & department objectives.
• Provide customer support and technical expertise for various environmental issues and environmental regulations.
• Develop and implement functional, cost effective solutions for environmental issues.
• Education Required: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental or chemical engineering, environmental science, or environmental-related field.
• Experience Required: 5+ years environmental management experience in semiconductors or high technology industries is preferred.
• Proven understanding of environmental regulations and compliance standards.
• Specific experience in environmental programs, including air pollution control, waste reduction, recycling and reuse, environmental impact assessment, wastewater treatment, and greenhouse gas inventory, among others.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing environmental and Sustainability programs in Semiconductor or high technology industries.
• Experience in semiconductors or high-tech industries construction is preferred.
• Familiar with ISO14001, ISO 14064, ISO50001 is preferred.
• English communication and coordination skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing good) Good interpersonal skills, Excellent written and effective communication skills, team player, strong collaboration & analytical skills and able to work independently.
• Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills abilities to address EHS challenges and implement effective solutions.
• Qualifications/Certifications Required: Possess environmental-related certifications (such as dedicated air pollution control specialist, dedicated wastewater and sewage treatment specialist, waste disposal technician, toxic chemical substances management specialist.
• ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 lead auditor is preferred.
