Engineer, Firmware Test (SSD)

What You'll Do

• Develop comprehensive firmware verification plans for SSD firmware features.
• Execute white-box, grey-box, and system-level testing methods to verify and validate firmware functionality.
• Analyze regression failures and perform structured root-cause analysis for firmware-related issues.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback that supports firmware quality and test coverage.
• Collaborate with firmware development engineers to improve code quality and product reliability.
• Communicate technical challenges, solutions, and mitigation plans to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Other Responsibilities Maintain accurate documentation of test activities, findings, and validation results.
• Support continuous improvement of firmware validation methodologies and test coverage.
• Develop technical knowledge in SSD architecture, firmware testing, and storage technologies.
• AI Responsibilities Integrates AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.
• Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements within one’s scope of work.
• Qualifications B.Sc. or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, or equivalent. 2-3 years of experience in test development and validation (internship or academic project experience counts) Technical Skills Experience with software testing concepts including white-box, grey-box, black-box, boundary, and regression testing.
• Python programming, scripting, debugging, and test framework development.
• Firmware verification, validation, and regression testing techniques.
• Git development flow and branch management.
• Root-cause analysis and software defect investigation.
• Basic understanding of storage protocols and technologies.
• Soft Skills Structured problem-solving and analytical thinking.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Cross-functional collaboration and teamwork.
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
• Preferred Skills Knowledge of PCIe, NVMe, NVMe-MI, and OCP specifications.
• Exposure to SSD products, storage systems, or firmware validation environments.
