Principal Optical Engineer

What You'll Do

• the development of calibration routines for optical devices, the development of optical transceiver performance validation tests, building and maintaining the appropriate testbeds with the associated software infrastructure.
• These tasks support products from the R&D phase all the way to high volume production.
• What We're Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields and 10+ years of related professional experience.
• Master’s degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 5+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of Optical Communications: Proficiency from system to component level.
• Familiarity with Optical Module Metrics: Understanding key performance indicators.
• Hands-on Experience: Expertise in coherent communication systems.
• Programming & Automation: Proficiency in Python, with demonstrated experience in test automation (required) Hardware Debugging: Ability to bring up and debug optical/electronic hardware.
• Team Player: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of digital signal processing (DSP).
• Expected Base Pay Range (USD) 154,240 - 231,000, $ per annum The successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions.
