About This Role

  • We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Security Research Intern to join our hardware development team.
  • In this role, you will support the security assurance of systems-on-a-chip (SoCs), working closely with experienced engineers throughout the hardware secure development lifecycle.
  • This internship offers hands-on exposure to real-world hardware design challenges in a collaborative and fast-paced engineering environment.
  • Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Secure Design and Development Review: Review and validate the design, development, and implementation of Intel's hardware and software products and services to ensure they are secure by design.
  • Threat and Vulnerability Assessment: Conduct comprehensive threat assessments, design security components, and perform vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
  • Innovative Problem Solving: Utilize formal education, judgment, and formal processes to develop innovative solutions to complex security problems.
  • Proof-of-Concepts and Prototypes: Perform research to define boundaries and create proof-of-concepts or prototypes for new ideas/exploits.

Requirements

  • are required to be initially considered for this position.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or equivalent (at least 1 year remaining as an active student). 6+ months of experience programming in Python. 6+ months of experience in Computer Architecture.
  • Intermediate to advanced English level.
  • Must have unrestricted, permanent right to work in Mexico (this role is not eligible for visa or immigration sponsorship).
  • Preferred Qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
  • Focused experience in Intel Computer Architecture.
  • Experience in: Python for testing and AI.
  • Ethical Software hacking.
  • Hardware Description Language like Verilog.
  • Using source version control and CI/CD tools like GitHub.
  • Developing automated applications, tools, and exploits.
  • Hardware validation/debug is a plus.
  • Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.
  • A candidate who accepts an offer of employment in Mexico is required to present their own personal identification information and numbers for the following: Mexican Security Number (NSS), Tax Identification Number (RFC) and CURP identification number.
