About This Role
- The Risk and Control Engineer is responsible for ensuring robust governance, compliance, and operational risk management across facility operations, asset lifecycle, and capital programs.
- This role provides structured oversight, monitoring, and control of key processes, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards, internal policies, and business continuity objectives.
- The primary responsibilities for this role will include, but are not limited to: Compliance and Audit: Lead and coordinate ISO audits (internal and external) Ensure compliance with 50K ISO technical requirements Maintain audit readiness and drive closure of findings Define and monitor control frameworks to ensure adherence Risk Management and Governance: Own and govern the Risk and Control (RyC) framework Identify, assess, and mitigate operational and facility risks Ensure controls are defined, implemented, and periodically validated for effectiveness Business Continuity and Asset Integrity: Govern Business Continuity Plans (BCP) to ensure operational resilience Oversee Asset Management (AM) controls to maintain lifecycle reliability and compliance Ensure critical infrastructure is protected and aligned with risk mitigation strategies Elevator Systems Oversight (Critical Systems Control): Own risk, compliance, and operational control for elevator systems across the facility Ensure elevators comply with safety regulations, inspection requirements, and maintenance standards Monitor preventive maintenance, service performance, and uptime reliability Assess risks related to safety, availability, and regulatory compliance, ensuring mitigation actions are implemented Support incident investigation and corrective actions related to elevator performance or failures Ensure elevator systems are incorporated into BCP and emergency response plans Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Own and maintain the Facility Dashboard for risk, compliance, and operational KPIs Provide visibility of risk exposure, audit status, and system performance to leadership Track and report key indicators for facilities, assets, and controls Financial and Capital Controls: Provide governance over Ops Capital investments to ensure risk-informed decisions Partner with the Cost Team to align financial controls with risk management objectives Validate that capital projects meet compliance, safety, and control requirements Capacity and Lifecycle Management: Monitor Facility Capacity risks impacting operational performance and scalability Own ILM (Integrated Lifecycle Management) tracking to ensure assets align with lifecycle strategy and compliance needs Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications : Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering. 3+ years of experience overseeing all aspects of the program, including planning, resource allocation, and budget.

- Intermediate to Advanced English proficiency (both verbal and written).
- Must have unrestricted - permanent right to work in Costa Rica.
