About This Role

  • Intel is an industry leader and a catalyst for technology innovation and products that revolutionize the way we live.
  • The Chief Accounting Office (CAO) manages Intel's global accounting, compliance, and reporting.
  • Within CAO's Revenue and Rebates organization, the Rebates Global Process Owner Analyst is accountable for standardizing and governing product level rebate accrual and inventory/payment methodologies through two key capabilities: 1.
  • Global Rebate Accounting Standard Practices (GRASP) Product Level Accrual Algorithm operating model - including ownership of accrual logic integrity, exception/override governance, rollout enablement, training, and stabilization support. 2.
  • Throughput Time First In-First Out (TPT FIFO) template and process enablement - including training, support of the TPT FIFO method (buffer logic, TPT assumption derivation), and enabling consistent execution across account teams.
  • This role partners closely across CAO, IT, SMG regional reps, rebate analysts (RAs), and audit/compliance stakeholders to ensure scalable, well controlled execution and audit readiness as processes and tooling evolve. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities A) Own accrual algorithm logic integrity and operating model (GRASP) • Serve as the accountable/responsible owner for accrual logic and algorithm integrity and applicability. • Define/maintain exception rules and override governance, including required rationale, support, and methodology for overrides. • Partner with RAs/COE to interpret outputs, analyze variances, and drive model enhancements based on structured feedback. • Support rollout and stabilization activities, including UAT/test environment simulations and cutover readiness discussions.
  • B) Drive training, enablement, and adoption • Lead/coordinate training execution for GRASP algorithm enablement, including sharing recorded walkthroughs, live sessions, and office hours. • Establish capability expectations (L1/L2/L3) for stakeholder groups (CAO management, SMG management, RAs, COE, regional reps) to support scaled adoption. • Provide advisor/sounding board support to account teams during onboarding/stabilization while strengthening standardized decision making.
  • C) Own/enable TPT FIFO template and process execution • Deliver training and ongoing support for TPT FIFO template/process, including FIFO/TPT concepts, buffer handling, and how TPT assumptions are derived. • Maintain/iterate enablement artifacts (templates, guidance) that leverage Excel formulas, Power Query, and macros to standardize execution. • Guide handling of edge cases (e.g., inventory sufficiency flags, buffer usage, out of order consumption constraints) consistent with policy and process design.
  • D) Controls, SOX, and audit readiness • Partner with COE/controls stakeholders to ensure process changes remain SOX relevant, documented, and auditable, including alignment with audit expectations when introducing new technologies or changing operating models. • Support high risk close/control execution needs as required (e.g. coverage of SOX control and SOX610 global sample work).
  • E) Cross functional stakeholder leadership • Translate technical accounting/process concepts into clear guidance and decision options for CAO and business partners, supporting go/no go decisions and scaled rollout governance. • Vistex/V4 readiness/adoption across the landscape, including but not limited to: Reporting and Analytics Lead, Finance Systems and UAT Rep, and Payment Adjustment Reviewer and Approver. ________________________________________ Core Competencies: • Operates effectively in ambiguity; can design and stabilize operating models while adoption is in flight. • Influences without authority; builds alignment across CAO, SMG, and regional stakeholders. • High accountability mindset; emphasizes transparency, standardized decisioning, and auditable governance.

Requirements

  • are required to be initially considered for this position.
  • Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field. • Demonstrated experience in rebates accounting/operations, including accrual methodologies, forecasting/variance analysis, and end to end process understanding. • Strong analytical and tooling capability (e.g., advanced Excel); comfort operating in structured templates and data driven models. • Proven ability to drive adoption via training, enablement, and stakeholder support across geographies/time zones.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with SOX relevant process environments and audit interactions/requirements. • Experience with Vistex/ECC and/or V4 concepts and SAP, and process evolution toward more standardized, system supported models. • Experience with analytics/automation tools used in this space (examples include Python, Power Query, VBA macros, KNIME). • Strong executive communication skills; ability to explain model logic, risks, limitations, and exception rationale.
  • Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.
