About This Role

  • We are seeking experienced and highly driven individuals to support the Penang Assembly and Test Manufacturing facility as a NPI Process Integration Technician.
  • This role is responsible for coordinating and executing New Product Introduction (NPI) activities to ensure successful product startup from engineering builds through high volume manufacturing (HVM).
  • Responsibilities/Expectations Core Responsibilities • Support NPI Process Integration Engineers / NPI Integrators in executing new product introductions, ensuring smooth factory readiness from early builds through volume ramp. • Review, manage, and track NPI intake forms, launch checklists, and VF/ENG lot checklists, ensuring timely closure before lot starts and production execution. • Set up, release, and monitor NPI / Engineering / Lead lots through the factory, ensuring correct routing, priority handling, and adherence to approved process flows. • Actively track lot movement and health, and promptly highlight abnormal behaviors (holds, tool mismatches, routing errors, yield risk signals) to Integration and Engineering teams. • Partner with Module NPI, Manufacturing, Test, Yield, and Automation teams to close gaps identified during NPI execution. ________________________________________ Operational and Execution Expectations • Ensure strict compliance to released RFCs, specs, and NPI execution requirements; no manual move-outs or deviations without approval. • Provide hands-on execution monitoring for NPI and engineering lots, especially during high-risk steps, lead lots, or first-of-kind flows. • Assist with time-zero monitoring, yield data checks, and early signal containment, particularly for NPI / ENG lots that are not fully covered by standard PROD dashboards. • Support problem-solving efforts by supplying accurate execution data, lot history, and process context for 8D, MRB, CADET, or yield investigations. ________________________________________ Cross-Functional and Communication Expectations • Serve as a factory execution interface for Integration engineers, ensuring alignment between Engineering intent and Manufacturing execution. • Escalate execution risks, checklist gaps, or supervision needs early, using defined NPI escalation paths and documentation. • Maintain clear, timely communication with NPI Integrators, Engineers, and Group Leads on lot status, risks, and recovery actions. ________________________________________ Quality, Discipline and Mindset • Demonstrate high operational discipline - precision in execution, attention to detail, and zero tolerance for undocumented shortcuts. • Continuously look for process gaps, unclear ownership, or recurring pain points, and feed learnings back to improve NPI standards and readiness checklists. • Embrace an NPI learning mindset: urgency with quality, data-driven problem solving, and willingness to engage across disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Engineering or Technical discipline (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Semiconductor-related fields), or equivalent hands-on manufacturing experience • Hands-on experience in semiconductor Assembly / Test, Manufacturing, or NPI environments is strongly preferred. • Familiarity with factory process flows, tool routing, lot management, and execution controls (ENG / NPI / PROD lots). • Exposure to engineering lots, lead lots, first-of-kind flows, or re-NPI activities is an advantage. • Basic understanding of process change control, RFC adherence, and execution discipline in a high-mix manufacturing environment. • Comfortable working with manufacturing systems (e.g., lot tracking, route verification, hold/release workflows, dashboards). • Demonstrated attention to detail and execution discipline, especially when handling engineering or high-risk NPI lots. • Awareness of quality systems, escalation paths, and structured problem-solving (e.g., 8D, MRB support) is a plus. • Willing to escalate early and fact based, rather than reactively after commits are at risk. • Open to shift flexibility or off-hour support during major NPI ramps or critical execution windows (as required by business).
