About This Role

  • The Instrumentation and Controls System Engineer own and operates facilities control systems through Programing Logic Controllers (PLC) from where it interfaces with field instrumentation to measure temperature, humidity, pressure, flow, level and control valves among others.
  • This role also includes operating and maintaining a power monitoring system; all this data is analyzed and used to take critical operational decisions and identify facilities improvement.
  • Our engineers act as Intel's System Owners for sustaining and improving existing systems.
  • You will support projects, Lab/office task forces, cross-site and cross-discipline teams, and incident resolutions, provide facilities engineering leadership to the site organizations in support of Safety, Reliability, Quality, Environmental and Cost objectives.
  • Will be accountable for safety, system operations, maintenance procedures, reliability, and cost.
  • Also, will review and approve automatization control system designs following standard specifications, submittals, studies, and drawings.
  • They deliver operational efficiency, maintenance, testing and commissioning solutions for the electrical power system focusing on energy conservation, safety, reliability, quality, and sustainability.

  • The primary responsibilities for this role will include, but are not limited to: Own the health of the building monitoring system including all preventive, corrective maintenance, and projects they own.
  • Instrumentation calibration program Owner.
  • Developing system concepts and conducting design reviews for construction projects or system enhancements.
  • Performing system acceptance for newly installed equipment.
  • Solve technical issues that arise in the system control (PLC, HMI-Servers, SQL, etc.).
  • Job plan development for preventative maintenance or corrective maintenance.
  • Keep up-to-date critical documentation to operate and maintain the system running in a reliable manner.
  • Support to maintain the facilities document control system by ensuring as-built drawings, OEM manuals, and PLC program code back up.
  • Work closely with Project Engineers and contractors, on project design and close out documentation.
  • Coordinates and oversee work of external consultant's support.
  • Data Base development, control logic for batch system and HMI configuration.
  • Coordinate and execute of SAT Test, FAT Test.
  • Startup of DCS (Distributed Control System).
  • Troubleshooting of field instruments configuration.
  • A successful candidate will have proven experience demonstrating the following skills and behavioral traits: Strong communication skills, willing to communicate strategic and tactical concepts across a wide range of employees including engineering peers, operational technicians, and management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Experience utilizing Allen Bradley PLC programming software and HMI-Complicity software.
  • Experience with ABB and Allen Bradley Variable frequency drives programming.
  • Acknowledge in Power Monitoring expert (PME) software.

Requirements

  • Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position.
  • Candidate must have a Bachelor's in Electronic, Electrical Engineer or related. 10+ years of experience in all the following: Troubleshooting techniques and interpreting PIDs, construction drawings and special tools (multimeters, process meter, Hart configurator/calibrator).
  • Managing calibration process and procedures.
  • Control network architecture and troubleshooting.
  • Advanced English proficiency (both verbal and written).
  • Must have unrestricted - permanent right to work in Costa Rica.
