  • As a GPU Software Development Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Intel GPUs and graphics solutions.
  • This entry level role offers a unique opportunity to design, develop, and optimize software that enables Intel GPUs, spanning firmware, device drivers, APIs, and applications.
  • Your contributions will be essential to ensuring Intel GPUs deliver exceptional performance and functionality across diverse platforms.
  • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges and bring revolutionary technologies to market, driving Intel's success in graphics and computing solutions.
  • Key Responsibilities: Develop and validate system software for Intel GPUs across firmware, device drivers, APIs, and high-level application layers.
  • Collaborate on pre-silicon simulation and emulation, silicon power-on, and post-silicon development phases.
  • Optimize tools, infrastructure, and technologies to enhance GPU performance.
  • Adapt existing driver functionality to hardware changes for upcoming platforms.
  • Debug and troubleshoot Linux kernel and system-level software issues.
  • Contribute to open-source communities by upstreaming patches and coordinating major driver enhancements.

  • Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your degree, research and or relevant previous job and or internship experiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field with 6+ years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience OR Ph.D. with 3 years of relevant experience. 6+ years of experience in C, C++ and Open-Source graphics. 6+ years of experience developing system software for Linux OS, including familiarity with Linux OS concepts such as virtual memory, caches, and debugging tools (e.g., GDB).

Nice to Have

  • Experience with GPU APIs such as CUDA, OpenCL, ROCm, oneAPI Level Zero, or SYCL.
  • Familiarity with parallel programming, HPC, AI, or ML software development.
  • Contributions to open-source projects, particularly in the realm of 3D drivers, Vulkan/OpenGL APIs, or Mesa 3D.
  • Expertise in debugging software across hardware and software layers.
  • Experience developing scalable MPI applications or applications for discrete GPUs.
  • Strong understanding of the software engineering development lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of PCIe protocols and configuration space.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, Rust, or Go.

  • Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $173,660.00-245,160.00 USD The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations.
