About This Role

  • The primary responsibilities for this role will include, but are not limited to: Supports collections operations by monitoring customer accounts, aging balances, payment activity, disputes, and unapplied cash to help drive timely collections and reduce overdue exposure.
  • Performs account reconciliations, analyzes payment trends, researches deductions and disputes, and provides variance explanations to support cash flow objectives and operational reporting.
  • Maintains accurate collections records, customer communications, and account status updates while partnering with internal stakeholders and customers to resolve billing, payment, and dispute issues.
  • Assists with forecast inputs by tracking expected customer payments, open disputes, and collection risks impacting short-term cash flow visibility.
  • Prepares and maintains operational reports, trackers, and portfolio summaries related to collections performance, aging, dispute status, and account health.
  • Supports month-end and quarter-end activities by ensuring account balances, payment applications, and collection updates are properly reflected in reporting tools and systems.
  • Identifies process gaps and improvement opportunities within daily collections activities and supports automation, standardization, and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Escalates critical issues, aging risks, and customer concerns to leadership when necessary and supports ad hoc analysis and reporting requests that assist leadership decision making.

Requirements

  • Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position.
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. 0-1+ years of relevant finance or accounting experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 0 years with a master’s degree.
  • Proficiency in financial systems, such as SAP.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Intermediate to advanced English proficiency, both written and verbal.
  • Must have unrestricted - permanent right to work in Costa Rica.

Nice to Have

  • Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools like Power BI or process automation tools such as UiPath.
  • Experience in legal, auditing, or contract management is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams and geographies.
