About This Role

  • The Role and Impact As a DevOps Software Engineering Undergraduate Intern, you will play an active role in modernizing Intel's software infrastructure through innovative DevOps practices.
  • You will contribute to the development of automated CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IAC) solutions, and software deployment workflows that enhance the scalability and reliability of manufacturing systems.
  • This hands-on experience will allow you to work closely with cross-functional teams, gain practical exposure to automation, and make a meaningful impact on Intel's IT systems.
  • Business group You will be part of Intel's Foundry Automation group, a team focused on developing scalable automation solutions for Intel's manufacturing systems.
  • This group plays a critical role in supporting Intel's advanced process technology development by providing automated infrastructure systems and tools that enable factory applications and processes.

  • Key Responsibilities Support the development of key operational reporting tools to improve operational efficiency.
  • Work with IT Infrastructure engineers to identify opportunities to improve server and storage operations by developing automation solutions for repetitive tasks.
  • Support physical server deployment and server decommission in the data center, including OS installation and configuration.
  • Infrastructure software automation spans full lifecycle from provisioning to monitoring.
  • Identify opportunities for optimization and contribute to improving IT Infrastructure deployment software.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Basic knowledge of CI/CD tools and practices, such as GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
  • Familiarity with at least one scripting or programming language, such as Python, JavaScript, C# or Java.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems and command-line tools Preferred Qualifications Experience with version control systems and automated testing tools.
  • Knowledge of system design principles and distributed systems architecture.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems and command-line tools.
  • Strong interest in DevOps methodologies and automation practices.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) Eagerness to learn and contribute to innovative infrastructure solutions.
  • Able to commit to a minimum internship period of 6 months.
