About This Role
- The Role and Impact We are looking for an enthusiastic Development Tools Software Engineer to join our debug tools team.
- In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize software debug tools that support critical workflows, enabling engineers to create and integrate Intel silicon and software into impactful products.
- Your contributions will directly enhance tools used across Intel's engineering ecosystem, playing a vital role in delivering cutting-edge solutions to our customers.
- Business group Intel's Debug and Trace Tools Engineering team drives innovation by creating high-quality software debug tools and systems that support product design, manufacturing, validation, and integration.
- By utilizing modern development methodologies and secure coding practices, the team contributes to Intel's broader mission of delivering world-class silicon and software solutions.
- Through collaboration and expertise, the group supports Intel's commitment to advancing technology while fostering an inclusive and empowering work environment.
- Key Responsibilities - Design and implement robust software tools, including debuggers, for engineering workflows and silicon validation. - Utilize modern programming languages and development methodologies to create efficient, secure, and scalable systems. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and ensure seamless integration of tools into existing workflows. - Optimize software tools for high performance and reliability across diverse use cases. - Debug and resolve software issues, ensuring the tools meet production-quality standards. - Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines to streamline development and testing processes. - Support the adoption of Agile practices within the team to foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with 3+ years of industry experience; OR Master's degree with 2+ years of professional experience; OR PhD with no prior professional experience. - Proficiency in modern programming languages such as C++ - Hands-on experience with version control systems - Knowledge of embedded systems and hardware architectures. - Solid analytical skills and ability to work in Agile development teams. - Experience with configuring Linux and Windows systems. - Knowledge about Open-Source Software. - Advanced English. - Understanding AI and HPC SW stacks Preferred Qualifications - Experience developing tools such as compilers or debuggers like gdb. - Knowledge of OS internals, particularly Linux - Understanding of testing frameworks and methodologies. - Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
