About This Role

  • The Role and Impact Intel’s Chief Accounting Office (CAO) ensures high-quality accounting, controllership, consolidation, and financial reporting worldwide.
  • The CAO organization partners across the company to deliver accurate GAAP-compliant accounting, maintain strong internal controls, and support required financial and regulatory reporting globally.
  • This position will be managing complete accounting lifecycle for restructuring and severance programs under ASC 420 and ASC 712.
  • Handles recognition, measurement, tracking, reconciliations, and financial reporting while collaborating with HR Compensation and Benefits, Legal, Corporate Planning, Accounting Policy, External Reporting, Treasury, and global shared service teams.
  • Requires strong accounting fundamentals, attention to detail, and ability to manage complex compensation accounting in a rapidly evolving business environment.
  • Responsibilities Supports accounting lifecycle including recognition, measurement, tracking, and documentation of severance liabilities with related schedules, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Evaluate accounting impacts of program changes, employee actions, implementation decisions in partnership with finance and accounting teams while supporting timely and accurate accounting treatment from initial recognition through settlement and closeout.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities including variance analysis, account roll forwards, management reporting, and supporting schedules for severance and restructuring accounting.
  • Assist with disclosure support and reporting packages to provide reliable data and analysis to help business and finance leaders understand restructuring-related financial impacts.
  • Execute and maintain strong SOX controls, reconciliations, and process documentation to ensure consistency, auditability, and compliance with company policy and accounting guidance.
  • Ensure consistent application of accounting policies and guidance across restructuring processes while partnering with internal and external auditors on requests, testing, and issue resolution.
  • Work closely with HR, Corporate Planning, Accounting Policy, External Reporting, Treasury, and shared service teams to translate program execution details into accurate accounting and reporting outcomes for restructuring and severance programs.
  • Support cross-functional coordination to resolve issues while providing forecasting, scenario analysis, and insights to help finance leaders understand severance and restructuring trends and expected outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and standardize severance accounting processes while supporting finance transformation initiatives involving workflow, enhancements, process standardization, desktop procedures, automation and building scalable solutions for evolving workforce programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 3+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience, including experience with accrual accounting, close processes, financial reporting support, or employee-related liabilities.
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS, with exposure to ASC 420 and ASC 712 or similar compensation and restructuring-related accounting guidance.
  • Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, internal controls, and documentation in a controllership or accounting environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across a matrixed organization.

Nice to Have

  • CPA/ACCA or progress toward CPA/ACCA certification.
  • Experience supporting restructuring, severance, compensation accounting, or related close and reporting activities.
  • Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA or ECC and related finance systems.
  • Experience supporting SOX compliance, internal audits, external audits, or process improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to deliver practical solutions and operate effectively in a dynamic environment with evolving business programs.
