What You'll Do
- Learn the fundamentals of Facility Engineering operations and utility systems.
- Participate in facility walkthroughs and system familiarization sessions.
- Observe and document daily operational and maintenance activities (for e.g. mechanical domain).
- Map current workflows and identify manual processes.
- Analyze data from facility systems, maintenance records, and operational reports.
- Support development of dashboards, reports, and automation solutions.
- Work with engineers and technicians to understand operational challenges.
- Prepare and present recommendations for process improvements and automation.
- Primary Internship Deliverable: Conduct a comprehensive study of manual activities performed within Facilities.
- Document at least 20–30 recurring manual processes.
- Assess automation feasibility, effort, and potential benefits.
- Prepare a final Automation Opportunity Assessment Report.
- Present findings and recommendations to Facility Engineering leadership.
- Required Qualifications: Education – Currently pursuing a Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Automation, Mechatronics, Facilities Management, Data Analytics or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Must be in good academic standing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint, or similar digital tools.
- Basic knowledge of data analysis and visualization.
- Interest in automation, digital transformation, or smart facilities.
- Familiarity with programming or scripting tools (Python, SQL, VBA, etc.).
