What You'll Do

  • Learn the fundamentals of Facility Engineering operations and utility systems.
  • Participate in facility walkthroughs and system familiarization sessions.
  • Observe and document daily operational and maintenance activities (for e.g. mechanical domain).
  • Map current workflows and identify manual processes.
  • Analyze data from facility systems, maintenance records, and operational reports.
  • Support development of dashboards, reports, and automation solutions.
  • Work with engineers and technicians to understand operational challenges.
  • Prepare and present recommendations for process improvements and automation.
  • Primary Internship Deliverable: Conduct a comprehensive study of manual activities performed within Facilities.
  • Document at least 20–30 recurring manual processes.
  • Assess automation feasibility, effort, and potential benefits.
  • Prepare a final Automation Opportunity Assessment Report.
  • Present findings and recommendations to Facility Engineering leadership.
  • Required Qualifications: Education – Currently pursuing a Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Automation, Mechatronics, Facilities Management, Data Analytics or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Must be in good academic standing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint, or similar digital tools.
  • Basic knowledge of data analysis and visualization.
  • Interest in automation, digital transformation, or smart facilities.
  • Familiarity with programming or scripting tools (Python, SQL, VBA, etc.).
