About This Role
- As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and deliver software and firmware for ultra-high-performance datacenter-scale solutions.
- We are looking for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced, start-up-like environment working in a small team of highly experienced engineers.
- Please note that this is an in-person position.
- With our "One Person, One Project" development culture, you will own all aspects of a design, including ZephyrOS/OpenBMC firmware, microcode, device drivers, embedded Linux/Yocto builds, and/or upper-level control software.
- Our cradle-to-grave lifecycle approach means ownership does not end at product ship: you will assist with customer trials, address field issues, ensure product sustainability, and/or drive validation and automation.
- You will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of engineers working on forward-looking technologies with extensive interaction with partner engineering teams.
- Key Qualifications & Experience: Datacenter & Architecture Experience: Background developing software in C++/C for large-scale, complex multi-processor architectures (x86, ARM), from low-level firmware up to rack management control software.
- OS & Firmware: Experience with Linux/Yocto, OpenBMC, and/or ZephyrOS.
- Bring-Up & Debug: Deep expertise in early-stage development, including silicon, chip, board, and full-system bring-up.
- Proven ability in driver development and low-level/silicon debugging.
- Hardware Interfaces & Buses: Hands-on experience writing software for low-level interfaces including I2C, PMBus, AVSbus, MDIO, PCIe, SPI, USB, and SERDES.
- Management & Telemetry Protocols: Strong knowledge of Redfish and DMTF standards including MCTP, PLDM, and SPDM.
- Security & Boot: Implementation of Secure Boot, u-boot, Secure Root of Trust (RoT), and familiarity with architectures like Calyptra.
- Networking: Solid baseline knowledge of datacenter networking, switching, and NIC architectures.
- Testing & Automation: Expertise with debugging tools, testing techniques, and driving system-level validation and automation.
- Lifecycle Ownership: Demonstrated lifecycle product ownership of complex products, participating in cross-functional teams from product inception to volume production.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work with support groups, including Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Customer Support, Compliance, Safety, and Sustainability.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering and 5+ years of related experience.
- Compensation and Benefits The annual base salary range for this position is CAD 76,300.00 To CAD 122,000.00 As a valued member of our team, you'll be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and the opportunity to receive not only a competitive new hire equity grant, but also annual equity awards, connecting your success directly to the company's growth.
- All subject to relevant plan documents and award agreements.
- Broadcom offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package: Medical, dental and vision plans, RRSP participation including company matching, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company-paid holidays; and paid sick leave and vacation time.
- The company follows all applicable laws for leaves of absence.
- We will also consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records consistent with local law.
- If you are located outside USA, please be sure to fill out a home address as this will be used for future correspondence.
