About This Role

• Broadcom's VMware Cloud Foundation Division (VCF) is looking for a talented and motivated Software Engineer to join our VCF Ops Management organization.
• As a key member of the Salt development team, you'll focus on building, testing, and supporting management and configuration solutions for our private cloud offering.
• We need a proactive, team-oriented problem solver who thrives in fast paced environments.
• The individual and team goal will be to develop and maintain high-quality software aligned with user needs and business objectives.
• Work location for this position is in our Palo Alto, CA office.
• Must have legal authorization to work in the US.
• Responsibilities Lead within an Agile team to design, review, and deliver high-quality, well-tested code that meets business requirements.
• Solve complex technical challenges by implementing robust, high-standard software solutions.
• Commit to delivering stories and tasks within the sprint.
• Develop automated test cases to validate integrated / end-to-end functionality.
• Actively communicate and collaborate within the team and across functional boundaries.
• Drive opportunities to increase efficiency, security, and product quality through best practices.
• Interact with support teams to handle customer issues.
• Requirements Bachelor's degree in a software related field and 12+ years of experience or Master's degree in a software related field and 10+ years of experience.
• Extensive experience with Python, libraries, and asynchronous programming.
• Strong experience with Linux operating systems.
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, security, and system administration.
• Experience developing scalable systems with high availability.
• Experience in configuration management and infrastructure automation technologies like Salt and Ansible.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab/GitHub Actions).
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Good knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, software design patterns and distributed systems fundamentals.
• Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to learn, apply, and integrate with various technologies.
• Additional Job Description: Compensation and Benefits The annual base salary range for this position is $141,300 - $226,000 As a valued member of our team, you'll be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and the opportunity to receive not only a competitive new hire equity grant, but also annual equity awards, connecting your success directly to the company's growth.
