Principal Engineer, Functional Safety

Qualifications

• Minimum BS/BEng in Electrical, Electronic or Computer Engineering; MSEE or MSCE Experience and Skills Given the wide range of skills required it is unlikely any candidate will have them all, but the following are given as guidance Experience in architecting and defining functionally safe systems based on IEC 61508 or ISO 26262 at the system or IC level Experience in developing and maintaining functional safety work products (preferably in a lead role).
• Examples: of such work products include safety concepts, FMEDA, safety manuals, software test libraries Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to understand and clearly articulate technical issues Good verbal and written English communication skills to work effectively with teams spread across the planet and work with our industrial customers in Europe, US and ASIA A knowledge of industrial cyber security and especially the IEC 62443 series of standards The ability and interest in reading IEC and ISO standards, academic and industry papers, and books A knowledge of integrated circuit design and application Systems engineering experience for complex automotive & industrial applications Travel Required: Yes, typically 15% #LI-CC1 For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S.
