PCB Layout Design Engineer (Power System)

About This Role

• We are looking for an experienced and innovative power system layout design engineer who is highly proficient in PCB/Substrate layout design.
• This individual will design high density power modules products using state of the art technology.
• A thorough knowledge of switching mode power supply architectures and magnetics layout requirement in a system in package & evaluation board is required.
• The candidate must be a team player with excellent verbal and written skills, an ability to work independently and methodically.
• The individual should be able to work on projects with the various support groups.
• Job Responsibilities Develop and create detailed layout designs for Power Modules projects.
• Optimize metal traces, power planes, vias, interposer stack-up designs for electrical, magnetic, thermal and mechanical robustness performance.
• Collaborate with Design, Application, Product, Packaging and Assembly engineers to ensure new designs & modified layout meeting technical specifications and assembly design guidelines for manufacturability.
• Perform Design Rules Check (DRC) and Layout vs Schematic (LVS) verification for all PCB & substrate designs.
• Utilize CAD software and other design tools to produce high quality package & board level layout design.
• Able to develop a monitoring progress schedule.
• Qualifications/Requirements: BSEE with 10+ years of power products layout design Strong fundamental knowledge in layout principles and standards, BGA/LGA System in Package construction, evaluation board reliability and failure mechanism.
• Proficiency in Cadence Virtuoso and CAD software (e.g.
• AutoCAD, Labview) Ability to manage multiple projects and meet schedule.
• Strong analytical skills and extremely detail oriented.
• Strong communication skills Team player.

• Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S.
• Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
